Job Description

The Role

Audentes Therapeutics is currently seeking a Vice President (VP), Global Marketing to join our Commercial leadership team. The VP, Global Marketing is responsible for setting the strategy and leading all marketing efforts for commercial and pipeline products.  Success in this position will require an ability to closely collaborate with cross-functional partners. This position will be based in our San Francisco offices.

The specific responsibilities of this position include, not limited to:

  • Marketing leadership
    • Identify, recruit and retain key marketing talent
    • Develop and manage the company's marketing budget
    • Provide commercial perspective as member of program core team(s)
  • Disease and Product Marketing
    • Develop the key messages, positioning and overall marketing plan for the product portfolio and patient/physician service program offerings
    • Create and implement disease education programs, initially for XLMTM
    • Select and oversee management of advertising and production agencies
    • Proactively foresee, identify, and facilitate the resolution of marketing issues. Identify and direct needed market research
    • Serve as key member of commercial leadership team in developing launch plans; create marketing plans for products
  • Payer marketing
    • Partner with clinical, medical and market access colleagues to create our value story for private and government payers globally
    • Contribute to the creation of a global value dossier
  • Pipeline and business development
    • Provide commercial guidance and input on product strategy as a member of program core team(s)

Required Education, Skills and Experience

  • B.S. degree with 12+ years' experience in commercial roles of increasing responsibility and 7+ years' experience rare/orphan disease senior marketing experience
  • Launch experience in the U.S. and internationally
  • Ability to travel extensively as position requires

  • Proven experience with marketing of approved therapies rare/orphan diseases
  • Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically, and proven track record of driving tactical execution within department, internal cross functional teams and external partners
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem solving, strategic analysis and planning capabilities, involving complex situations
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills and organizational habits
  • Successful experience achieving and maintaining compliance with all applicable regulatory, legal, and operational rules
  • Proven ability to build productive relationships with stakeholders including KOLs and patient advocacy groups
  • Proficient with MS Office applications

 Preferred Education, Skills and Experience

  • MBA and experience in other commercial functions (market access, sales, etc.)
  • Experience with gene or cell therapy products
  • Commercialization experience in ex-US markets
  • Experience in startup environment
