Interventional Urology

Position Summary

 The Global Professional Education Manager develops, manages, and delivers UroLift System professional education to surgeons, OR staff, and sales representatives to achieve exceptional clinical outcomes for patients. As an integral member of the Professional Education team, this position manages, coordinates, and facilitates case coverage, peer-to-peer training, new hire training, new product development training, and other training activities. This position requires OR-based training experience, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to perform at high-levels independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

 Principal Responsibilities

Case Coverage

  • Develop, manage, and cover initial cases, including transitioning cases from OR/ASC to the office.
  • Manage case coverage schedules for ConsignMed reps and the Prof Ed team.
  • Develop and manage supplemental physician case training, including New Physician, Advanced Anatomy, Advanced Techniques, and Median Lobe.
  • Partner with UCs to manage and cover regular cases.
  • Partner with RBMs and ASDs on case coverage approvals.


  • Manage a positive learning experience that builds champions through screening, vetting, and conducting P2P consults and programs for urologist and faculty.
  • Manage peer-to-peer events (dinners, case days, office management), including hosting peer-to-peer meals, managing flow for the program, and determining if administrators or office staff are part of the program.
  • Provide advanced training and technical education for physicians to advance independence.
  • Train physicians on providing median lobe cases.
  • Manage and process invoices for all faculty events, including phone calls, P2P, proctorship, and webinars.
  • Manage vetting, training, and onboarding of faculty surgeons.

New Hire Training

  • Develop and manage training programs, including online programs, simulators, and live presentations for the Sales team and faculty.
  • Develop material for training courses, including Clinical Specialist Training and Clinical Excellence Training.
  • Manage and conduct ConsignMed representative training for new product introduction or process changes, monitor case coverage investments, and assign cost value relationships to corresponding events.
  • Partner with Field Trainers to manage and facilitate hands-on clinical training at New Hire Orientation.
  • Manage and follow-up with new hires to ensure attainment of qualifications and achievement of training requirements and ensure job performance is in accordance with training SOPs.

New Product Development

  • Partner with R&D and Marketing on managing and developing new product launches, market acceptance, case data follow-up reports, videos, video consents, and any other Market Acceptance Testing (MAT) data.
  • Participate in cadaver labs looking at design changes and evaluating future product enhancements.
  • Partner with the Sales team to deliver a touch point for customers that enhance business relationships.


  • Partner with DocMatter, Marketing, and Prof Ed to develop webinar content, and conduct webinars with faculty and team members.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to provide customers a company touch point.
  • Manage and facilitate clinical breakout sessions as needed at meetings.
  • Present Professional Education and Clinical Urolift information.
  • Manage training logistics, budgeting, and training costs for Professional Education events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in a clinical or science-based field.
  • At least 10 years of professional training or OR-based sales experience.

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements 

  • Demonstrated clinical mastery related to surgical devices and urology experience preferred.
  • Professional work ethic, strong organizational skills, and the ability to perform at high levels independently. 
  • Strong interpersonal skill and experience training surgeons in an OR setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required; Prezzi, Video editing, Articulate, SalesForce experience preferred.
